Opossums have more teeth than any other North American mammal. They have 50 teeth, humans only have 36.

This resin pendant is made using the hind wings of a Clouded Sulphur Butterfly, showing the details of the ventral side.
Base and chain are stainless steel.
Clouded Sulphur Butterflies are the most common butterfly in Ontario.
When this butterfly migrates, they fly low to the ground. Unfortunately this means they are prone to being hit by cars when crossing roads. This is how these butterflies were procured: as roadkill.
For this reason, specimens are not in perfect or pristine condition. Many of them have rips in their wings, or have places where the colour is missing.
Please understand these imperfections are part of the beauty of living a natural life.
No farming. No culling. No euthanasia.

As turtles grow the shed flakes of their shell, called scutes. These necklaces were made from the shed scutes of my pet turtle, Princess. She is a 33 year old red eared slider and I have had her for 30 years.
